REMEDIAL MASSAGE JANDAKOT

What is
remedial massage?

We like to think of it as the assessment and treatment of muscle, tendon and fascia dysfunction – that is, we find the original reason for the pain and address both symptoms and cause of the problem.

The goal of remedial massage therapy is to create a favourable environment within the body so that it can reach Homeostastis – the condition of optimal functioning considering all variables. Just think of it as giving back your body a blank slate.

Almost any massage will give you a general feeling of wellbeing but our remedial massage treatments offer a bit more.  Our remedial massage therapists in Jandakot will take a detailed health history, ask a lot of relevant questions and run through some functional assessments in order to develop a treatment plan that will likely consist of massage treatment, mobilisation and movement recommendations. We often refer and work with other health professionals if we feel that it will benefit the individual. This is rarely a ‘one size fits all’ approac.

What are the benefits of remedial massage?

Our therapists based in Jandakot aim to re-balance the tension and tone of your muscles and tendons so that bones can be restored to their correct position and blood flow can increase – which helps injuries heal faster.

Benefits include:

  • A more targeted treatment
  • Reduction or release from pain
  • Increased mobility
  • Facilitates a return to normal function
  • Aids in stress reduction and benefits sleep.

We use a combination of massage techniques including:

Muscle Energy Technique (MET) /Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)

Soft tissue release

Myofascial release

Joint mobilisation

Trigger point therapy
